DAY 1 - Depart from the USA

Board your overnight transatlantic flight (cost not included in land only price).

DAY 2 - Arrive in London, England

After checking into the hotel, the rest of the day is at leisure.

DAY 3 - London / Stratford / Coventry / York

Drive to Stratford- upon-Avon to visit Shakespeare’s birthplace and see Anne Hathaway’s cottage. In Coventry, view the two cathedrals and the statue of Lady Godiva, then on to York. A walking tour highlights the Shambles and York Minster. At your hotel, enjoy a Welcome Pub Reception with a typical pub meal and drinks. (Continental Breakfast, Welcome Pub Reception)

DAY 4 - York / Durham / Edinburgh, Scotland

Off to Durham, dominated by its 11th-century Norman cathedral. Stop for pictures at the Roman Emperor Hadrian’s Wall then cross the Scottish border and view the ruins of Jedburgh Abbey. On to Edinburgh, the Scottish capital. (Breakfast)

DAY 5 - Edinburgh Sightseeing & at Leisure

On a morning tour with a Local Guide, see the Royal Mile and Holyrood House, and visit Edinburgh Castle. Then your time is free. During the Edinburgh Festival, tickets to the Tattoo are included. (Breakfast)

DAY 6 - Edinburgh / Scottish Highlands

Drive to St. Andrews and take a picture at the 18th hole. Then on to the Scottish Highlands to visit Pitlochry village. Next, visit a whisky distillery to sample a “wee dram.” Tonight, experience a traditional Highland Highlight Dinner including the Scottish tradition of “piping in the haggis.” (Breakfast, Highlight Dinner)

DAY 7 - Scottish Highlands / Glasgow

Head to Culloden Moor where Bonnie Prince Charlie was defeated by the redcoats. At Loch Ness, keep your eyes open for the monster! Pass Fort William and Loch Lomond en route to Glasgow. (Breakfast)

DAY 8 - Glasgow / Manchester, England

After a Glasgow city tour, see Gretna Green, where eloping couples married against their parents’ wishes. Next is the Lake District and Grasmere, where the poet William Wordsworth lived. See his grave at St. Oswald’s Church, then drive to Lake Windermere and on to Manchester. (Breakfast)

DAY 9 - Manchester / Bristol

Stop in Chester for a walking tour featuring the Roman Walls and the black and white “Rows.” Cross into Wales to view the ruins of 12th-century Tintern Abbey. Savor a You’re Personally Invited Farewell Supper before driving to Bristol. Your evening is free. (Breakfast, Personally Invited)

DAY 10 - Bristol / Bath / Stonehenge / London

Visit the Roman Baths and the monoliths at Stonehenge. On to Salisbury to admire the cathedral. Then, back to London. (Breakfast)

DAY 11 - Depart London

You will be transferred to the airport (possible add'l transfer fee) where your vacation ends. (Breakfast)
